The 5 Things to Look for When Buying an Affordable Computer

Computer prices are all over the place. No matter what you’re looking for, it seems like there’s a different deal to be had every day.

Finding a good, affordable computer isn’t as simple as it sounds, but thankfully our friends at Small Business Computing Magazine have put together an easy-to-follow list of things to consider before making your purchase.

Here are tips for buying a business computer on a budget

  1. Don’t Buy Cheap Hardware:

This may seem obvious, but cheap hardware is often less than ideal for a number of reasons. For one thing, it can lead to performance issues down the road, especially if you’re running software that requires a lot of power or memory.

Also, cheaper components tend to break more easily and require more maintenance than higher quality parts do.

  1. Consider Your Software Needs:

You don’t need to buy expensive software in order to run your business effectively, most companies get by just fine with free alternatives like Google Docs and Zoho, but if you do plan on using certain programs (like Photoshop or AutoCAD), then make sure they run well on whatever machine you choose.

Which HP laptop under $300  should I buy?

When it comes to an HP laptop under $300, you don’t want to be cheap when it comes to your purchase.

If you buy a laptop that is subpar, then you are setting yourself up for failure and losing money on an item that will not work correctly or even break within six months of use.

If you want quality and something that is going to last, then there are a few options available.

Here are our top picks for best HP laptops under $300. The first option for the best HP laptop under $300 is a great choice because it has all of the basics that any user would need in order to function in their daily life.

It has 4GB of RAM, 64GB storage space (which can be expanded), and a 15-inch screen with full HD resolution. The processor speed is 2GHz which should allow most users to multitask without lag issues cropping up during usage.

It also includes Windows 10 which makes using it very easy since everyone knows how Windows works by now.

The HP Pavilion 15.6

The Pavilion 15.6 is one of HP’s best and most affordable laptops. For under $300, you get a machine with dedicated graphics, an AMD processor and Windows 10.

The battery life is also excellent, which is always important for students who need to get work done on their computer while they’re away from an outlet.

While it might not have all of the bells and whistles that pricier models have, if you just want something reliable without breaking your budget, it’s a great choice.

This model is currently priced at around $280 online. It comes in several different colors as well. One thing to note about its design is that it does tend to pick up fingerprints fairly easily.

Overall, though, there are very few drawbacks to choosing this laptop. It offers plenty of power for schoolwork and even some light gaming, though don’t expect any high-end titles or intense graphic editing capabilities out of it.

However, considering its price point, those are perfectly reasonable expectations. If you do decide to purchase one of these machines (or another like it), make sure you check out what kind of warranty is offered before purchasing anything else.

HP often has good deals on accidental damage protection plans so you can keep your investment safe if anything happens.

And, once again, it’s worth noting that battery life will vary depending on how much you use your laptop; having enough juice to get through a full day of classes should be more than possible with moderate use.

But if you spend hours every day watching movies or streaming music over Wi-Fi, then look elsewhere.

Battery life may only last for five hours instead of eight. With proper care and regular maintenance, keeping vents clear and removing dust from internal components.

This laptop should last through years of college classes without skipping a beat. In fact, some customers say theirs still works perfectly after three years!

The HP ProBook 450 G4 15.6

Best HP Laptops Under $300

HP offers three 15.6-inch laptops in its ProBook series:

The HP ProBook 450 G4, HP ProBook 430 G4 and HP ProBook 440 G4

All three come with Intel Core i3 or Core i5 processors and have a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels on a non-touch screen.

While each laptop comes with one of these two options, only two are available in certain countries, for example, all U.S.-bound ProBooks ship with an i5 chip and none can be had for less than $400 at HP’s website as of Jan 30, 2018.

If you’re looking for something under $300, your best bet is likely to be some version of the 450 model equipped with a i3 processor (in most countries).

This laptop has 4GB of RAM and 500GB hard drive. It also includes USB 3.0 ports, a webcam, Bluetooth 4.2 connectivity and 802.11ac Wi-Fi support.

This computer weighs 5 pounds and measures 0.9 inches thick when closed; it supports up to nine hours of battery life during use and 10 days in standby mode, so you won’t have to worry about charging it often while traveling if it stays closed while packed away inside your bag or suitcase.

However, there are no touchscreens available on any of these models. That said, we found that they were easy to navigate using just their physical keyboard and trackpad.

The bottom line: This laptop is great for travelers who want a lightweight machine that doesn’t skimp on performance or features but don’t need a touchscreen interface.

If you do opt for a touchscr toeen display, however, you’ll get more color options and better overall performance.

For instance, you could choose from one of four different HP ProBook x360 configurations instead. These range from 12.5 inches to 14 inches in size and offer either Celeron or Core i7 processors as well as anywhere from 2GB to 8GB of RAM depending on which configuration you select.

Each also includes a 256GB solid state drive and weighs around 2 pounds, making them even lighter than our top pick.

The HP EliteBook 735 G5 13.3

If you’re looking for a laptop that fits your needs whether it’s for work or play, then you might want to consider taking a look at HP EliteBook 735 G5 13.3-inch laptop which is one of Best Hp Laptop Under $300.

With its powerful Intel Core i7-8550U processor, 512GB SSD, and 16GB RAM, you can be sure that your workload won’t be a problem with HP EliteBook 735 G5 13.3 inch.

The portability also makes it ideal for working anywhere like airports and coffee shops where an internet connection is available.

And if you are someone who likes to watch movies on their laptops, then HP EliteBook 735 G5 13.3 has got you covered as well with its Full HD display screen and vibrant audio quality.

You will definitely enjoy watching movies on your new laptop! This notebook comes in different colors so if black isn’t really your thing, there are other options available such as silver and blue.

But no matter what color option you choose, all of them come in a sleek design that will surely turn heads wherever you go!

It is not very heavy either weighing only 2 pounds so carrying it around won’t be a hassle! If you are looking for something more affordable, then perhaps you should take a look at another model from HP:

HP Pavilion 15 Gaming Notebook PC. Its price tag is significantly lower than that of HP EliteBook 735 G5 but still offers great performance and features just like its more expensive counterpart.

So if you want something cheaper but still high performing, then perhaps you should check out HP Pavilion 15 Gaming Notebook PC!

Either way, both notebooks offer amazing value for money!

  1. Acer Aspire E15 15.6 Full HD Touchscreen AMD Ryzen 5 2500U Quad-Core Processor 8GB DDR4 Memory 256GB SSD Windows 10 Home 64-Bit ($259)
  2. Lenovo Ideapad 100S 11.6 Chromebook (Celeron N3060 Dual-Core Processor 4 GB DDR3L SDRAM 16 GB eMMC Flash Memory Chrome OS) ($190)

The HP Chromebook 14-q020nr 14

For under $300, you’re going to struggle to find a better machine. This Chromebook isn’t quite as cheap as some on our list, but it is exceptionally well-built and has a fantastic screen.

It has two USB 3.0 ports (as well as one USB 2.0), an HDMI port, and a microSD card slot for expandable storage.

It also comes with an almost too small keyboard, but that’s actually kind of charming (and also helpful if you like to have plenty of space).

One drawback is that Chromebook 14 doesn’t have an SD card slot or Bluetooth capabilities built in, both of which can be useful in certain situations.

But overall, it’s hard to go wrong with HP’s Chromebook 14. And at just over $300, it’s hard not to recommend.

If you want a little more performance without having to pay much more than $300, however, consider HP’s Chromebook 11 G6 EE

The 11 G6 EE still runs Chrome OS and only has 16GB of local storage, that makes it even less ideal than Chromebook 14 when it comes to offline use, but it has access to Google Play Store and is therefore capable of running Android apps.

As such, if you plan on using your laptop frequently online or maybe do most work while connected to Wi-Fi anyway, then 11 G6 EE could give you most benefits of full laptops at half their price.

And since it’s cheaper than full machines, we don’t see any reason why anyone should discount its value proposition solely because of its software limitations.

The Dell Inspiron 15 5000 Series i5577-7359BLK-PUS 15.6 Gaming Laptop, 8th Gen Intel Core i5, 8GB DDR4 RAM, 256GB SSD, Nvidia GeForce MX150 2GB GDDR5 Graphics, Windows 10 Home 64bit

This is another great budget laptop from Dell. It has a lot of advanced features and some quite powerful hardware, which you get for a really reasonable price.

You don’t get dedicated graphics but it does have an integrated graphics card that can handle most games very well.

It also has excellent battery life for an inexpensive laptop, with about 10 hours between charges. All in all, it’s not a bad choice if you’re on a budget and want to do some basic gaming on your laptop.

The Acer Aspire E 15 E5-575-33BM 15.6 Full HD Notebook – 8th Gen Intel Core i5-8250U Processor (Up to 3.4GHz), 8GB DDR4 Memory, 1TB HDD:

If you’re looking for something a little bigger than the Dell above, then take a look at this model from Acer.

It’s got similar specs but has larger storage capacity and memory too so should be able to run pretty much any game out there without any problems at all.

The screen isn’t as nice as some other models though so keep that in mind before buying it. The ASUS VivoBook F510UA-AH51 15.6 Full HD Thin Bezel Laptop w/ Intel Core i5-8250U Processor, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD + 2TB HDD Storage & Windows 10 Home 64bit:

Another good option if you’re after a mid range laptop is this one from Asus. It comes with decent specifications including an 8th generation processor and plenty of RAM and storage space.

The screen isn’t amazing but it’s still better than many others in its price range so definitely worth considering if you want something reliable that won’t cost too much money either.
